Title
Troyer Pool Hall - Raffle
Description
Photo of a 1929 Pontiac that is being raffled off. The car has been raised to the ceiling of the Pool Hall and a man is sitting in the driver's seat. A sign below the car reads Pontiac Sedan, Will Be Give Away, FREE, July 7, 1929, Troyers Recreation Rooms, Dickinson, No. Dak., Malted Milks a Specialty, Car (next word cannot be read) by Master Motor Sales. Words written on the 1st side window read Pontiac, ticket free with any game of Rotation. Words on the 2nd side window read Try Our Rich Creamy Malted Milks. Words on the 3rd side window read This Car Given Away FREE.
On the left side of the photo is palm tree, sitting in a bucket, on top of a safe. Next to the safe is a telephone booth and a punching bag. At the back of the building are rows of pool tables. On the right side of the photo are glass display cases filled with candies. Behind the glass display cases are cabinets with glass doors. To the right of the cabinets are barrels with signs that read Cherry Cider and Grape Cider. A sign at the top of right wall cannot be read because of a potted fern. An ad on a mirror reads Double Malted, Malted Milk. A sign on the right, is partly cut off, but the words Free, The, and Each, can be read. The number 98 is on the right corner of this print.
The Troyer Pool Hall was located in the Kihm Building which was next to the St. Charles Hotel on E. Villard. Exact date unknown.
