Signs on stores read, left to right: Geo(rge) W. Lee, Lumber & Machinery, General Store, Lefor Bros, Gladstone Mercantile Co., Bank, and R. J. Turner Land Co. On the side of this last building are signs that read Saturday, Aug. 15, Dickinson, and Circus. words written on the bottom of the photo read St. View Gladstone, N. D. Exact date unknown. Unidentified.

This same photo is shown in the book "Gladstone Centennial" on p. 13 with a date of 1908. The Greater Norris & Rowe Circus was in Dickinson on Saturday August 15, 1908 according to an article in that day's issue of the Dickinson Press.
