This photo contains almost all women, waiting for the opening of sales at the S & L Co. store. This photo, taken looking east, shows the back of the crowd. The women wear coats. Two women are each holding the hands of a small child who is walking between them. 3 men can be seen. The 1st man, his back to the camera, is wearing a coat, jeans, and a hat. The 2nd man, at the back of the crowd, is wearing a jacket, jeans, and a hat. The 3rd man, see from the back, is wearing a coat, jeans, and a hat. Other women can be seen further down the street. They also wear coats. 3 awnings have the letters S & L Co. on them. The store front windows have small triangle signs that read Save and large letters that read Save. One sign reads Top Values. Other signs in the windows cannot be read clearly. A sign on the top of the building reads S & L Stores. A sign on next building reads Firestone, Arthur E. Miller. An arrow on the sign points to the doorway to the Firestone store. Across the street are store signs that read Kladezee Store for Children, and ... Cleaners, and T. Miklautsch & Son .... A street light and telephone poles and wires can be seen. Cars can be seen parked in front of the S & L Store. Unidentified.
