Dickinson's First Airmail

People are gathered around a plane. that is carrying the 1st Airmail to Dickinson. Most of the people have coats and hats on. There is a horse-drawn carriage in the background. Some men and women are under a wing of the plane. The underside of that wing has letters and numbers that read NC-752. "OSBORN / DICKINSON / N.D." is written in the lower right corner. There is a small, white, circular sticker with "1" on it in the lower right corner. Exact date and location unknown. Not identified.

According to the Nov 2, 1933 issue of the Dickinson Press where some of Osborn's photos show the first regular stop on the Northwest Airways transcontinental route, this event occurred on Saturday October 21, 1933. This photo was printed in the issue and identified the people in the photo, from left to right as: Frank Whitney, Henry Brown, Charles Eastgate, Dorothy Nelson, Beatrice Coulter Mann, Henry Aberson, Pilot Straith, Mayor William Kostelecky, Postmaster William Lenneville and Assistant Superintendent of Airmail R.S. Brauer.
