Description
Hughes Electric office and generating plant. The first telephone exchange in Dickinson, 1901, located at Villard and 1st Ave. West. Some telephone and electric lines enter the building through some holes at the top of the building. The window on the far left has the words Local & Long Distance Telephone written on it, and the door next to that has the word Office on it. On the right side of the building is an attached garage. A pile of bricks is located on the ground. This building was originally called the Hughes and Deiter Electric Light Plant. A home is located to the left of the building. The number 57 in on the bottom right corner of this photograph. Exact date unknown.
Written on the back in the upper left is, "#91 ALBUM / 138 SCRIPT" and on the right, "NEG / (77) / NEG #68 / 57."
