Description
Binek's pool hall, after prohibition. A picture of a massive crowd of men, and a few women, packed together at the Bineks Cafe. Quite a few are standing next to the counter with glasses and bottles of alcohol. George Binek identified as standing behind the counter with white shirt & vest. In the back left corner is a sign advertising various local businesses. Exact date unknown, but beer was legalized and licenses were granted in Dickinson in late October 1933, including a license for Binek Recreation Rooms.
Written on the back in the upper left is, "#188 ALBUM / 165 SCRIPT" and on the right, "(284) / -103-."

In October 1929, Binek Brothers George and Tony took over the J.V. Troyer Pool Hall and Kihm Recreation room business on the ground floor of the Kihm Building at 17 E Villard. They renamed the business Binek's Recreation. They leased it from the building owner J.V. Troyer.
