Panoramic view of Villard Street in 1888 looking north from the Northern Pacific rail yards. The first depot is in the center of the photo. Some cabooses are connected to each other for the Northern Pacific Railroad. The cabooses are arranged in alternating colors (dark and light), with the light cars having Dakota Div. Caboose written on the side. The picture is tacked to a black colored table. The main street across from the railroad is Villard. Some names on buildings read Milwaukee Beer, Wines Liquors, and Cigars, Hardware, and Adm. Division Headquarters For, the rest of the sign cannot be read. The 2 story building on the left side is the First National Bank building. Written at the bottom is Dickinson, N. Dak., 1888. Exact date unknown.

Written in ink in the lower right corner is, "14A." Written on the back in the upper left is, "10A." Written in the center of the back is, "75% / Page 2 - land dev. / 43 x 14 picas / #1." Written on the right side of the back is, "-16-2- / Osborn Book / NEG #120."
