Portrait of White Bull. White Bull is wearing a wamus, a fringed leather tunic that slips over the head. As worn by the Lakota People, the wamus was a ceremonial tunic which was colored to represent the type of person the wearer was. Also wearing a beaded necklace made of wood or bone. Beads have a history with the Native American people. From the materials they used, to how the beads were incorporated in their every day lives, they tell a story. Exact date and location unknown. Identified. Written in the lower left is, "13A". Written on the back in the upper left is, "363 WHITE BULL."
