Description

A group picture of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The purpose of the I. O. O. F., is to make the world a better place in which to live, seeking to Improve and Elevate the Character of Mankind. The 1st man is wearing a shirt, tie, jacket, glasses, and a Fez with the word HOPE, the No. 7, and the letters F H C on it. He is wearing a medal in the shape of a star and a necklace with 2 medals, one round in shape, and the other in the shape of a triangle. This medal is called The Sovereign Grand Lodge 1834 Medal. The 2nd man is wearing a shirt, stripped tie, suit, glasses, and a Fez with the word HOPE, the No. 7, and the letters F H C on it. He is wearing a medal in the shape of a star and a necklace with 2 medals, one in the shape of a shield, and the other in the shape circle with a star inside. Inside the star is a number for the number of years a man has been a member. The 3rd man is wearing a shirt, tie, jacket, glasses, and has a medal, round in shape, with a star on it, on the left lapel of his jacket. The number 1 is in the lower right corner of this negative. Exact date and location unknown. Unidentified.
