Description
A photo of a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The purpose of the I. O. O. F., is to make the world a better place in which to live, seeking to Improve and Elevate the Character of Mankind. The man is wearing a shirt, tie, jacket, glasses, and a Fez with the word HOPE, the No. 7, and the letters F H C on it. He is wearing a medal in the shape of a star on the left pocket of his suit jacket. The medal at the top of the star reads Grand Encampment S. D., and a necklace with 2 medals, one round in shape with the letters S G L on it, and the other in the shape of a triangle with the letters F L T on it. This medal is called The Sovereign Grand Lodge 1834 Medal. In the upper right corner of this negative a photographers light can be seen. The number 8 is in the lower right corner of this negative. Exact date and location unknown. Unidentified.
