Co. K in front of the Klinefelter's Opera House before going to the Philippines in 1898. They are wearing their uniforms. People are standing around watching them. Some are in horse drawn buggies. The building on the left has the words Klinefelter's Opera House at the top. 2 people can be seen leaning out of windows, in this building, who are watching Co. K. 2 boys can be seen, one with a stick, poking around in a pool of water on Villard St. The street was unpaved. Unidentified. Written in the lower right corner is, "72." Written on the back is, "399 CO. K. 1ST. N.D. VOLUNTEERS READY TO ENTRAIN FOR / PHILLIPPINE ISLANDS- SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR / & PHILLIPINE INSURRECTION, A.J. OSBORN / WAS 2ND. LT. IN THIS COMPANY, LATER BEING MADE / A BATTALION ADJUTANT, MAY 1, 1898 (72) / DICKINSON, N.D. / KLINEFELTER HOTEL - OPERA HOUSE AND YUKON / SALOON. BRICK BUILDING ON SIDE STREET WAS / A BLACKSMITH SHOP. / NEG #242 / A." It is mounted on a piece of cardboard.
